Union Gas Supports SCRCA Water Awareness Program

Union Gas has donated $5,000 to the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority to support its Conservation Education Program.

Authority spokesman Rick Battson says funds will be used to purchase supplies for the Spring Water Awareness Program.

They go into schools across the region and provide a hands-on learning experience.

"It's really interesting, it's a real eye opener for them. They have an activity where the kids have to put their hands in ice cold water for 30 seconds. They're surprised at how little they can do with their hands, their motor functions go down," says Battson.

Battson says the water safety message is an important one, especially with our close proximity to rivers and lakes.
