OFSAA Track And Field Continues Friday

The three day OFSAA Track and Field meet continues Friday from the University of Windsor.

From Friday morning:

LCCVI's Marissa Mueller wins gold in senior girls javelin with a throw of 42.0m.

St Pat's Mackenzie Mullen and Northern's Avery Bathe-Minard finished 5th and 6th in junior girls discuss.

From Thursday:

Northern's Kristy Hodgins qualified for the final in senior girls 400m, she'll race at 2:30pm Friday.

Also qualifying for Friday's final was the Northern senior boys 4 x 100 relay team (Zachary Doxilly, Vincent Ham, Niles Crews, Sebastian Smith), they race at 4:45pm

Paige Vrolyk from St Pat's finished fourth in midget girls long jump with a jump of 5.05m.

Vrolyk was also part of the St Pats 4 x 100 meter midget girls relay team, along with Talia Ross, Rebecca Whitehead and Jordan Braekevelt, that missed qualifying for Friday's final by just 0.06 seconds.

Another strong St. Pat's showing from Breanna Pretty, who finished fourth in midget girls long jump.

Northern students Lauren Perkins (junior) and Kaylee White (midget) fell just short of qualifying in the girls 1500m in their respective divisions.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
