Third Annual Oil Slick Mud Run In Petrolia

Friday is the last day to register for the third annual Oil Slick Mud Run in Petrolia.

About 70 people have signed up so far for the event, which includes running through mud, climbing walls and other obstacles.

Oil Heritage District Community Centre General Manager Anita Minielly says money raised will go towards planned expansions and renovations at Tank St. facility.

"We are celebrating our tenth anniversary, it was 2006 when the centre was built and we are sort of busting at the seams," says Minielly.

"We're hoping with the addition in the next year or so we can add on a couple of studios, more change rooms, another all purpose room and its just really about raising awareness about the centre and all the good things we do here."

The 5km or 10km walk/run gets underway at 10am Saturday at the Oil Heritage District Community Centre.

Post event festivities will take place at Pizzafest.

To register call the Oil District Community Centre (519) 882-2232.
