Gala Sells Out In Record Time

Tickets for this Novembers "Dancing Under the Stars Gala" sold out within 25 minutes.

The event supports hospice.

Fund Development Manager Maria Muscedere is thrilled.

"Last year we sold out in 35 minutes but we did not anticipate the quantity of people that would be lined up outside the Hospice, as well as all the phone calls and emails we received."

A record $134-thousand was raised by the event last year.

She says it's a unique event for a great cause.

"We turn the atrium at DeGroot's Nursery into a ball room," says Muscedere. "Many of our guests enjoying the opportunity to come and dance under the stars."

Muscedere says they've had many people request a second night for the event. She says while they've considered it, it takes 130 volunteers for the event, so they don't have the manpower.

She says if you missed out on purchasing tickets, you can call the hospice to have your name placed on a wait list.
