New Waste Management Contract

Waste Management's drivers and mechanics have reached a new, three-year contract agreement with Lambton county's hauling division.

The 15 workers are represented by Local 519 of the Christian Labour Association of Canada.

Spokesman Ryan Griffioen says it's a good settlement for both parties.

"Overall it's about an eight percent increase in our total monetary package including wages and some improved overtime language, we're happy with the increases," says Griffioen.

Griffioen says they've been representing the workers since 1998, and it's good to see a new settlement.

He says the landfill division will start negotiations for the renewal of their collective agreement later this month.
