Protecting Drinking Water In Lambton County

An educational campaign is underway in an effort to protect the drinking water of thousands of Lambton county residents.

Planning and Development Services Manager Dave Posliff says signs are being erected along various county roads.

They'll warn first responders and residents of locations where a spill could have a significant impact on drinking water.

"The cost is relatively minimal, local municipalities were provided generous grants from the province so there's no cost to local taxpayers," says Posliff.

It's part of a provincial drinking water source protection plan for the St. Clair watershed.

The educational campaign is a joint initiative between the County of Lambton, Lambton Shores, Pt. Edward, Plympton-Wyoming, Sarnia and St. Clair.
