Car Slams Into Hydro Pole To Avoid Hitting Dog

Lambton OPP say a driver, who allegedly swerved to avoid hitting a dog, slammed into a hydro pole Tuesday evening in St.Clair Township.

Police were called around 6:30pm to the intersection of Kimball Rd. and LaSalle Line.

A Dodge Caravan travelling east on LaSalle Line swerved from the travelled portion of the road onto the boulevard and hit a hydro pole.

The 61-year-old male driver says a dog entered his path and he attempted to avoid striking the animal.

Police say the driver was not injured.

The hydro pole was sheared from its base and the road was closed while repairs were made. The investigation is ongoing.
