Doors Open This Weekend

It's a chance to peer behind a door that usually says "staff only."

Doors Open Lambton County is being held this weekend. (June 11 and 12)

County archivist and local Doors Open steering committee chair, Luke Stempien says 30 sites are participating and this year they've gone the extra mile.

"We've got the Enbridge Solar Farm, you know, something the public wouldn't normally be able to visit. We have Nemo Hall, a terrific second empire home in downtown Petrolia, which is a rare treat to go inside and explore the house of a former lumber baron," says Stempien.

Other sites include the Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery and Refined Fool in Sarnia, Fairbank Oil in Oil Springs and Forest's Kineto Theatre.

Most sites will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday, but times are different at some locations.

A full map of the sites and when they are open can be picked up from your Lambton County Library branch or found at http://www.lambtonmuseums.ca/doors-open-2016
