Police Seize Over $55,000 In Drugs

Over $55,000 worth of drugs have been taken off the streets following an extensive investigation by the Sarnia Police Vice Unit.

The probe into addresses in Warwick Twp. and the City of Sarnia spanned over several months.

Just after 6:30pm Tuesday, officers conducted a traffic stop related to the investigation. As a result, a 48-year-old woman was arrested and $1,100 worth of various opioids were seized.

She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and breaching recognizance.

Later that night, Vice Unit officers along with the Emergency Response Team, COPPS Unit, Uniformed Patrol, and OPP executed a search warrant at a Warwick Twp residence.

It's alleged they found over 13oz of cocaine, 88g of crystal methamphetamine, and 16 fentanyl patches, along with nearly $6,700 in cash.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and a child at the residence was removed by the Children's Aid Society.

The man is facing three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of breaching his undertaking.

Both parties were being held for a bail hearing and the investigation continues.
