Smoke Alarm Warns Residents Of Fire On Kathleen Ave.

An electrical fire caused an estimated $150,000 damage to a basement apartment on Kathleen Ave. in Sarnia Saturday morning.

Sarnia Fire Rescue Services responded to the address at 7am to discover smoke up to the ceiling.

The fire was quickly brought under control.

There were no injuries to firefighters or residents, who were awoken and alerted to the fire by their smoke alarm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
