Donations Needed For Seniors Cruise

A yearly tradition started by long time CHOK Hotline host Peter Henderson continues Monday.

The 38th annual Seniors Cruise aboard the Duc D'Orleans sets sail with over 1,000 people expected to take part.

Spokesperson Marnie Thomas says it's always a popular event.

"We've had as many as 2,000 people in a day and fed them lunch," says Thomas. "We have five cruises, one at 9am, one at 10:30am, at noon, at 1:30pm, at 3pm and occasionally they add an extra one if there's that many people."

The cruise begins from the Front St. dock.

Thomas says they're looking for food and monetary donations.

Those interested in helping can call 344-8829 or 344-1763 ext 306.
