Corunna High Jumping Hero In Sarnia

World champion high jumper and 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Derek Drouin was in Sarnia Saturday.

The 26-year-old Corunna native made an appearance at Sarnia Fine Cars on Confederation St. from 10am until 1pm.

Manager Don Davis says it was part of BMW's "Drive for Team Canada" event that donated $10 to Canada's Olympic team for each vehicle test-driven that day.

BMW is an official sponsor of the Canadian Olympic team.

The 2016 summer games begin August 5 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Basketball player Chelsea Aubry of Kitchener was also scheduled to appear with Drouin Saturday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
