Council To Consider Several Routine Items

Sarnia Council will consider a lot of routine items when it meets this afternoon.

Council meets in closed session at 3:30 to discuss personal matters, labour relations or employee negotiations and litigation.

In the regular meeting at 4pm, Bluewater Power will present cheques for energy conservation grants at the SSEC and public works.'

Sarnia Kinsmen Bob Marks has asked to speak to council after being notified of plans to close the Kinsmen Centre on Lakeshore Rd

Sarnia's mayor thinks the recommendation by city staff to sell the Kinsmen Centre is premature.

Mike Bradley says the club's desire to work with the city to improve the building should be explored first.

City council will discuss purchasing a broadcasting system to webcast council meetings online and how to better protect mature trees in the city.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
