New Chief Of Aamjiwnaang First Nation

Joanne Rogers is the new chief of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation following Friday's election.

Joining her on council will be former Chief Christopher Plain, Sherri Crowley, Errol Gray, Shawn Plain, John Adams, Phil Maness, Darren L. Henry and Dallas Sinopole.

Christopher Plain did not seek re-election as chief after 12 years, running for a council seat instead.

Joanne Rogers served over 20 years as a Justice of the Peace in Sarnia.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
