New City Planning Director Named

One of the vacant senior management positions at Sarnia City Hall has been filled.

City Manager Margaret Misek-Evans says Alan Shaw has been appointed the director of planning, building and bylaw enforcement.

Shaw has been with the city for the last eight years in the position of manager of building and bylaw enforcement and brings over 20 years of experience to his new position.

Misek-Evans says in addition to his new role, Shaw will continue to serve as the city's chief building official.

He starts his new duties as director Monday.

The city manager also says that Ryan Chamney will assume the role of acting director of parks and recreation following the resignation of Beth Gignac.
