Gymnasts In Sarnia For Final Olympic Tune Up (Gallery, Audio)

Canada's national women's artistic gymnastics team is in Sarnia this week to train for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Rio.

The team, featuring Ellie Black, Brittany Rogers, Rose Woo, Shallon Olsen and Isabela Onyshko, will be training with Dave and Liz Brubaker who have been coaching for 30 years.

Dave Brubaker says the athletes will also be working with Chiropractor John Vargo, and the Massage Therapy Clinic.

He says he's not concerned about the prospect of the Zika Virus in Rio.

In Dehli there was concern about snakes in the village, well no one ever saw snakes," says Brubaker. " his time it's the Zika virus, I was their about 10 weeks ago for the test event, and I didn't see one mosquito the entire time I'm there.

"I'm not saying there aren't mosquitoes or there isn't a virus, just that maybe it gets a little blown out of proportion."

The Brubakers are no strangers to international competition. Both have been the head coach, coach or team leader at the Olympic Games, the world championships, the Pan Am Games, Commonwealth Games and the Pacific Rim championships.

The team will train at the Bluewater Gymnastics Club until July 31, the Rio Olympics are scheduled to take place August 3 to 22.
