Council Vacancy Filled In Point Edward

A familiar face has returned to Point Edward Council.

Former councillor Brad Drury was appointed Tuesday to fill the vacancy created when Bev Hand took over the mayor's chair after Larry MacKenzie unexpectedly resigned.

Drury, runner up in the 2014 municipal elections, will serve the remainder of the current four year term.

Janice Robson assumed the role of deputy mayor.

MacKenzie announced his resignation in late June for personal reasons, after 28 years on village council and the past three as mayor.
