Deadline For Consolidated School Naming Nears

Wednesday is the deadline for the public to submit names for the soon-to-be-consolidated SCITS and St. Clair high school.

Residents have been making suggestions on the Lambton District School Board website and in ballot boxes at SCITS and St. Clair since July 6.

Members of an ad hoc naming committee will review the submissions and develop a shortlist for further input.

It's hoped a recommendation will be presented to board trustees by the end of August.

The board voted in May to close SCITS.

St. Clair students will temporarily relocate to the Wellington St. site this September to allow for renovations at the Murphy Rd. school.

The new consolidated school, with its new name, will open in September 2017.
