Holmes Foundry A Priority For Village Councillor

Pt. Edward Councillor Brad Drury says he has three main focuses as he returns to the position.

He says cleaning up the old Holmes Foundry site, located north of Exmouth St. between Front St. and Christina St., is a top priority.

"I hear there's a meeting coming up on September 19, so once that happens maybe we'll get more direction on it," says Drury. "From not knowing about ownership or who to talk to, it's been difficult for the village to get some answers."

Drury says revitalizing the downtown core, and privatization of the casino are his other focuses.

He was runner-up in the 2014 municipal election, and was appointed by council to fill the vacancy created when Bev Hand took over the mayor's chair after Larry MacKenzie resigned.

Janice Robson assumed the role of deputy mayor.
