Sarnia Sting Sign Czech Import Pick

The Sarnia Sting continue to build their roster for the upcoming OHL season, signing Filip Helt to a standard player agreement. The 18-year-old Czech native was chosen 47th overall by the Sting in the CHL import draft. Helt was a 7th round pick by St. Louis in the 2016 NHL draft. Last season, the 6'1" 194 lb left winger tallied 20 goals and 26 assists in 42 games played with the HC Litvinov U18 team.

General Manager Nick Sinclair says they're excited to have Helt commit to the Sting for the upcoming season.

"As an 18-year-old and NHL draft pick, we expect him to come in and be a key contributor amongst our forward group," says Sinclair. "We look forward to working with Filip and helping him grow as both a player and a young man.”
