Inn Launches New Pilot Program For Kids

The Inn of the Good Shepherd has begun a pilot program to try to fill the gap for children in geared-to-income housing neighbourhoods in Sarnia.

Executive Director Myles Vanni says in the summer, kids who rely on nutrition programs in the schools go without.

"The Snack-Pack program contain fruit, granola bars, juice boxes and pudding cups," he says.

"We will distribute them on Kathleen St. and Roger St. when our Mobile Market truck is there every Friday."

Vanni says there's a big need for things such as fruit and pudding cups, juice boxes, yogurt tubes and cheese strings.

Each week about 800 families access the Inn's Mobile Market.
