New Family Physician Opening Practice In Sarnia

Sarnia needs family physicians and a new practitioner is coming to town this fall.

Dr. Noranda Nyholt intends to launch her practice full-time November 1.

Dr. Nyholt has been practicing in Belleville along with her husband Dr. Ryan Dobbs as a family physician for five years.

She will begin accepting patients September 1. Applications will be available at her office at 239 George St., or through the Physician Recruitment Taskforce.

Recruitment Coordinator Carly Neinhuis says Dr. Nyholt is their 23rd recruit since 2001.

"We work closely with a lot of the medical schools in Ontario and we do a little bit of recruitment in the states as well as other provinces," says Neinhuis.

"At each of the job fairs we communicate with family physicians, talk about the features of Sarnia and many of our wonderful aspects."

Dr. Dobbs, who grew up in Sarnia, has accepted a position at Bluewater Health as a hospitalist.
