Sting Goalie Coach With Hockey Canada

Patrick DesRocher has been to invited to coach in Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence.

DesRocher was in Calgary earlier this month, along with 111 of the top players in the country, for the Under-17 Development camp.

The former NHLer, and current goalie coach of the Sarnia Sting, will be with Team White at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge October 30 until November 5 in Sault Ste. Marie. 66 players will be split into three Canadian teams for the annual IIHF tournament.

The Penetanguishene native received a call from Hockey Canada's Goaltending Consultant Fred Brathwaite about the opportunity, and says he was more than happy to help out.

This will be DesRocher's third season as Sarnia's goalie coach, he also does colour commentary for Sting radio broadcasts on CHOK.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
