Sarnia firefighters rushed to a house fire Tuesday afternoon in the central part of the city.
Fire Safety Educator Mike Otis says a home in the area of Russell St. and Cameron St. was extensively damaged.
"When Sarnia Fire and Rescue arrived on scene the entire rear of the house was engulfed in flames," says Otis. "The deck was completely burnt up and the flames extended into the upper levels of the house."
Otis says there did not appear to be any injuries. The cause and a damage estimate were not immediately available.
City police and EMS also responded.
