Sarnia Police Investigate Rash Of Shingle Thefts

Sarnia police are investigating a rash of thefts of shingles from three building centres all located south of Confederation St.

The criminal investigation branch is looking into four incidents that occurred in the early morning hours between July 3 and July 25.

Police say access was gained by either cutting through compound fences or climbing over them.

Video surveillance has been released in the hopes of identifying the suspects.

In one incident, police say a male on a bicycle towing a wooden wagon is seen at a compound and is then followed by a white pickup truck, that appears to be a Chev product, and a small four door sedan.

The truck has two doors with an extended box and a bed liner and has running bars along the bottom as well as a compressor in the truck bed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable T. Vosburg at 519-344-8861 (extension 6187) or Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
