Thousands Expected At 'That Night In Sarnia'

Volunteers are needed for "That Night In Sarnia".

The event at Canatara Park August 20, will feature two 30' inflatable video screens showing the CBC broadcast of the Tragically Hip's final concert in Kingston.

Blackburn Radio Marketing Director Aaron Zimmer says they're expecting a very large turnout and are asking the community for help with the event.

"Some people will be required to walk the park collecting donations, others will need to do some lifting maybe with ice in the licensed area and some will just need to sit in the outskirts and and enjoy the show be there to answer questions that people might have," says Zimmer.

The event will begin at 6pm Saturday, August 20 with the showing of Tragically Hip video footage.

Local band The Room takes the stage to play Hip cover songs at 7pm, and the concert starts at 8:30pm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
