Surveillance Video Helps Capture Thieves

The release of surveillance video was instrumental in the quick arrest of two suspects in a convenience store break and enter last week.

Two Sarnia males have been arrested in connection with the theft of cigarettes from a business on Christina St. Thursday August 4.

Constable John Sottosanti says they were able to identify the suspects with help from the public after video was circulated via social media.

"Immediately that day we received calls confirming who the individuals involved were," says Sottosanti. "From there, officers were able to complete their investigation and arrest the two accused."

A 25-year-old man is charged with break and enter, mischief under $5,000 and breach of probation.

A 16-year-old male is also charged with break and enter.

Both have been released on promises to appear.
