Olympic Soccer Coach Named As Gala Keynote

The Bluewater Health Foundation has landed another high profile keynote speaker for this year's fundraising gala at the Holiday Inn.

Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander says the scheduled speaker for the 4th annual gala is busy right now in Rio at the Olympics.

"We are very, very excited that the keynote speaker for the foundation's gala is the Canadian women's soccer team head coach John Herdman," says Alexander.

"If you've been watching the Olympics, that team is just going beyond expectations under his leadership and we're so excited that he's coming to Sarnia-Lambton this year."

Herdman led the women's soccer team to the bronze medal four years ago in London England and has the squad in contention for a medal again at the 2016 games.

The team meets Germany in a semi-final match tomorrow. (Tues)

Proceeds from this year's gala, set for October 13, will go towards the purchase of a new CT scanner at Bluewater Health, estimated to cost over $2-million.

Tickets are $250 and are available now through the Bluewater Health Foundation.
