Pickup Collides With Transport On Hwy. 402

The driver of a pickup truck was seriously injured in a rear-end crash on Hwy. 402 at Christina St. Monday afternoon. Sarnia Fire Rescue Services, Lambton EMS and Lambton OPP responded to the westbound lanes around 2:30pm.

Police say investigation revealed that a transport truck was stopped, waiting to pay the Blue Water Bridge toll, when a Dodge Ram drove into the back of the transport’s trailer.

OPP say the driver and lone occupant of the pickup was extricated from the vehicle by Sarnia firefighters using the jaws of life and taken to hospital with significant but non-life threatening injuries.

The right lanes of Hwy. 402 approaching the Blue Water Bridge were blocked with traffic moving slowly through the area.

Police say additional details in relation to the crash, including possible charges, will be released at a later date.
