Man Rescued At Grand Bend Beach

There was a near drowning at Grand Bend Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 4pm, OPP, the Grand Bend Fire Department and Lambton County EMS rushed to the beach after receiving a call about a man in distress in the water.

The 21-year-old was initially breathing but went unconscious when he was pulled onto the sand. An on duty lifeguard and an off duty paramedic began CPR and were able to revive the man who was taken to hospital for further treatment.

His identity is being withheld pending contact with his family. OPP say he was an international student from another country studying in Ontario.
