Lambton County is again establishing a temporary distribution centre at Bayside Mall downtown to avoid delays in the event of a postal strike.
Ontario Works recipients who normally receive payments by mail can pick up their September cheques Monday and Tuesday from 8:30am to 4:30pm in training room 2/3 on the second floor of the Lambton Shared Services Centre.
Identification is required.
No alternate actions are required for those who receive payments by direct bank deposit.
The county says direct bank deposit cheque statements will not be distributed at this time.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers will be in a legal strike position Sunday, August 28.
