Great Lakes Secondary Recommended Name For New Consolidated School

It's being recommended the name of the former St. Clair Secondary School be changed to Great Lakes Secondary School. The Lambton Kent District School Board will vote on the name of the consolidated school when it meets Tuesday evening. Great Lakes Secondary was one of three selected by an ad hoc naming committee from 145 public submissions. Bluewater Collegiate and Sarnia Clearwater Collegiate were also on the short list but the committee is recommending Great Lakes. The committee says it stayed away from any references to the former St. Clair and SCITS schools, north-south references and naming the school after a person.

Blue Bomber and Colt students will consolidate on the renovated St. Clair site in September 2017.
