Snow Barriers Proposed For Highway 402

The MPP for Lambton Kent Middlesex wants to make travel along the 402 a little less hazardous this winter.

Monte McNaughton has written Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca, asking him to put up snow barriers along wind-swept sections of the highway.

"It would be common sense for the Ministry to look into putting snow fencing up," he says.

"It's a practical approach to stopping the issues we've had along the highway between London and Sarnia in recent years. It wouldn't cost a lot of money but it would save lives."

McNaughton says since the snow fences would have to be set back from the highway, it would make sense for them to be higher than normal.

He has yet to hear back from the Transportation Minister.
