LKDSB Occasional And Supply Teacher Costs Over Budget

The Lambton Kent District School Board's occasional and supply teacher costs are over budget.

Superintendent of Business Brian McKay presented the finding in his financial report for 2015-16 school year.

McKay says the expenditures are currently 8.2% over budget to the end of May, with one month of expenditures remaining.

He says a year end budget variance of about $1-million is expected.

Human Resources Superintendent Phil Warner says the majority of employees do attend regularly.

Board Vice-Chair Scott McKinlay asked that a report on employee absenteeism be presented at the board's next meeting September 13.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
