Site Preparation Begins At Lambton College For Two New Buildings

Pre-construction work is underway on the new Nova Chemicals Health & Research Centre and a new Athletics & Fitness Complex at Lambton College.

College Finance & Administration Vice President Margaret Dragan says they're widening the sidewalk from the Progressive Auto Sales Arena south to the College because the entrance at the northeast side of Lambton will be closed when actual construction does get underway.

"We're working with Bluewater Power and Union Gas to reroute high voltage power lines and gas lines to serve the new buildings," she says. "We're also rerouting fibre optic cable which ran across the site, working with Bluewater Regional Networks on that job."

The two facilities will add over 100,000 sq ft of space to the college at a price tag of over $40-million.

They're scheduled to open in the fall of 2018.
