Parking At Premium Near SCITS

The biggest change within the Lambton Kent District School Board is the consolidation of St. Clair Secondary School and SCITS students at the Wellington St. site.

Students will move over to the Murphy Rd. school next September once renovations and an expansion is completed.

Superintendent of Education Gary Girardi says this year's enrollment of 1,060 students and 94 staff will put the squeeze on parking in the area.

"Parking at the site is limited," says Girardi.

"There are 101 spaces on site and that includes eight visitors spots and three accessible spots so it's close to accommodating staff."

Girardi says it will be an ongoing effort to ensure that a good relationship with neighbours and business in the area can be struck throughout this school year.
