Sting Sign Defenceman Braden Henderson

The Sarnia Sting have signed defenceman Braden Henderson to a standard player agreement and education package.

The 16-year-old Baxter, ON native was chosen by the Sting in the 6th round of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

He put up seven goals and 17 points in 32 games with the Barrie Colts Minor Midget AAA team last season. He also scored a pair of goals in the 2016 OHL Cup.

“We’re very pleased to get a commitment from Braden. He’s an important young prospect in our system with a tremendous skill set and mind for the game," says Sting GM Nick Sinclair. "We’re going to continue working with him as he develops and matures physically; and believe that he can become a key contributor for our hockey club down the road.”

Henderson will be in the lineup for the Sting's preseason home and home with the Windsor Spitfires Friday and Saturday.
