UPDATE: Sarnia Firefighters Help Commemorate 15th 9/11 Anniversary

Members of Sarnia Fire and Rescue travelled to Pt. Huron Sunday to help mark the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

A somber ceremony started at 9am at the International Flag Plaza just north of the Blue Water Bridge.

Fire Safety Educator Mike Otis says it's important to show solidarity with their American brothers and sisters.

"When it comes to emergency services, there are no borders," says Otis. "We help them and they help us. We're there for each other."

Otis says the Sarnia department was represented by one full service truck and numerous off duty personnel in full dress uniform.

Police, EMS, and the public were also invited to attend the ceremony.
