Sarnia Train Station Upgrade On Track

$600,000 worth of infrastructure improvements was announced this morning for Sarnia's train station. The money is part of a $2.55-million investment at both the Sarnia and London Via Rail stations. Improvements include roof repairs, upgraded washrooms, repairs to masonry and doors, and relocation of wayside power panels. Work is already underway at the Green St. station.

The federal government allocated $34.4-million for several improvement projects in the 2016 budget.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
