Bridge Workers Vote To Strike If Necessary

A group of Blue Water Bridge employees is poised to strike early next month if a contract agreement is not reached before then.

Nearly 50 Public Service Alliance of Canada members will be in a legal strike position October 6.

Local 501 President Paul Haney says a strike vote was conducted Wednesday night.

He says workers voted overwhelmingly to take strike action if necessary.

The maintenance personnel, toll collectors, and currency exchangers have been without a contract since November of 2014.

Haney says the main issues are wages and benefits and scheduling of full and part time employees.
