Greatest Great Big Crunch Ever

Over 13,000 Lambton County students simultaneously chomped into a fresh, local apple at 9am Thursday.

The Great Big Crunch kicked off the Student Nutrition Program across the county.

This year's event was the largest ever with 43 Lambton schools taking part.

Student Nutrition Coordinator Leslie Palimaka says this year was the largest crunch ever.

"The Student Nutrition Program provided 2,000 more apples than last year and has now reached beyond 13,000 apples for all of Lambton County," she says. "It is amazing to see the growth of the Great Big Crunch (GBC)!"

The Student Nutrition Program is financially supported by the province and delivered through Lambton Public Health. It provides free healthy food to students everyday throughout the school year.
