UPDATE: Police Say Woman Safe And Sound

Sarnia police say a 25-year-old woman is safe and sound.

Nicole Lynn Whitton contacted police after public notice was issued Thursday and a photo was circulated as part of an assault investigation.

Police responded to an apartment in the area of Ontario St. and Russell St. around 8pm Wednesday.

Constable John Sottosanti said police were concerned for Whitton's safety and well-being.

The investigation into the assault continues.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
