A Mild Start To November

The month of November is getting off to an unseasonably mild start.

Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson says a high of 21 C (70 F) is forecast for the Sarnia area Tuesday.

"This is all tied into a low pressure system that's moving across North Dakota into Minnesota, its going to move across the upper Great Lakes during the course of the next day or two," says Coulson. "Not really influencing us too much directly but certainly indirectly, with these winds coming up from the south and southwest, that's really going to bump our temperatures to well above normal values."

Coulson says it's unlikely we'll set a new record high Tuesday however. The standing record for November 1 at Chris Hadfield Airport is 23.3 C (73 F) set in 1974.
