About 300 white crosses were set up on the front lawn of the Petrolia OPP detachment on Oil Heritage Rd. Saturday morning.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Sarnia/Lambton President Natalie Andrews says their annual White Cross Dedication was held at 10:15am.
"Each cross represents a life that will be lost during the holiday season," says Andrews. "From November 1, to Jan. 2, that's almost 300 and that's too many."
The dedication marks the beginning of MADD's 29th Red Ribbon Campaign.
Members will be handing out red ribbons until January 1 to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.
