Wanted Suspect Arrested After Foot Chase

Sarnia police tracked down and arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant Tuesday morning.

At around 9:15am, police say a man on a bicycle fled when an officer advised him he was under arrest.

The officer lost sight of the suspect for several minutes in the area of Stuart St. but was able to locate him again and take him into custody after a brief foot chase.

Police allegedly seized two syringes and several stolen cards on the accused.

Lewis Rising, 26, of Sarnia was in custody awaiting a bail hearing on charges of obstructing a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and five counts of breach of probation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
