Blackburn Radio Honoured For 'That Night In Sarnia'

Blackburn Radio's K106.3 is garnering provincial recognition for it's work in the community.

On Thursday, the station was presented with the OAB's (Ontario Association of Broadcasters) Community Service Award for its "That Night In Sarnia" fundraiser in support of brain cancer research.

Marketing Director Aaron Zimmer says it's an honour to receive the award.

"It was a great event for the community and K 106.3 as well," says Zimmer.

"It's great recognition for the community as a whole as this is an Ontario award and Sarnia, not just K 106.3, is being recognized for this great event."

"That Night In Sarnia", which included a showing of the final Tragically Hip concert at Canatara Park, raised nearly $30,000 for the Bluewater Health Foundation and Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research.
