32nd Annual Celebration Of Lights

After a hectic couple of months, the Celebration of Lights at Sarnia's Centennial Park will be turned on Friday night.

Organizers announced in October that due to a lack of financial and volunteer resources there would be no Celebration of Lights. That sparked a number of residents, community groups and schools to step up and help make this years display one of the largest in a very long time.

Board Director Bill Suisham says every light display they have, except the arch, is being used.

"In all the years I've been doing it, I've never seen this many, I've been doing it for six years and I have never seen them all out," says Suisham.

Santa Claus will arrive around 6:45pm near the foot of London Rd at Front St. to sing a few Christmas songs before flipping the switch.

Suisham says the display will stay up until early January.
