Chemical Scare At Corunna Post Office

A chemical scare created a lot of activity Friday morning at the Corunna post office.

St. Clair Township Fire Chief Walt Anderson says firefighters from the Corunna hall, OPP and EMS responded around 9:20am.

"On arrival we were told that a package of some powder substance had opened up inside the building and one worker was exposed to it and had a rash developing on his arm, at the time there were also two paramedics inside," says Anderson. "So we quarantined them to the building and sealed off anybody else from entering."

Anderson says Lambton OPP confirmed where the package had originated from and learned it contained protein powder.

Sarnia fire and rescue hazmat also responded. The scene was cleared shortly before 11am.
