The group the Liberals to put a moratorium on closures until the Education Ministry takes another look at Pupil Accommodation Review Guidelines, which were changed in 2015.

Sarnia resident Susan MacKenzie says she's not blaming school boards

"The boards are being forced because with the reduction in the top-up funding and the revised guidelines, they really have no choice but to close schools," says MacKenzie.

Although she says just a few local residents are participating, busses from as far away as Sudbury and 25 other districts are travelling to Toronto.

In the Rainbow District School Board, some students are facing daily return bus rides of over four hours because of school closures.
