United Way Campaign Tracking Behind Last Year's Pace

There are five weeks remaining in this year's Sarnia-Lambton United Way fundraising campaign.

In his weekly update, Executive Director Dave Brown says they've raised just under $1.53-million, or 76.3% of the $2-million goal.

"We are tracking $30,000 or $40,000 behind last year," says Brown. "Last year was a record pace, but still we like to be equal to last year if we can. We still have five weeks to go. Right now 3,507 donors have already supported the campaign and with five weeks to go we're still hopeful we'll get the rest."

Last year, donations surpassed the $1.95-million goal and hit the $2-million mark for the first time.

The United Way funds 20 agencies providing 37 programs and services.
